Sweet Summertime

It is finally here...summer!! School has ended. and Sophia is officially a PreK4 student. Isabella has a first birthday around the corner, and I am wondering where has the time gone?  So far this summer our time has been spent relaxing by the pool and enjoying the kids.  They both keep me exhausted from chasing them all over creation so busy.  I have Sophia signed up for VBS at the end of the month, and hopefully will get her enrolled in a gymnastics camp (she calls it germastics.)  The girls are getting bigger everyday, and never cease to amaze me with their humor.  Here is what these girly girls are up to these days:

  • Loves to SWIM...I believe she is part mermaid.  She can swim so well.  We are in awe of how good she is!
  • Barbies, Barbies, all the time.  The girl loves barbies
  • She is currently reading Stuart Little (Short Little) She is really enjoying the book.  I think when we are finished, I will rent the movie and have a special movie night for her.
  • Art and coloring.  Always wants to work on a project
  • Loves to wear dresses, skirts and to be "fancy." Hair fixed, nails polished, and sparkles in her hair... she is 100% girly!!
  • Drama- EVERYTHING is dramatic with this girl.  I guess that is what comes with the territory when having a girl.
  • She is super funny.  Always making jokes.  She keeps me laughing all day
  • British words: I am not sure where she has learned them, but fiddlesticks, blasted and bloody are now part of her vocabulary.
I am working really hard with her to remember what she learned at school last year.  She is so smart.  She can write all of her letters,  can to count to 100 and is starting to read small words.  The child is a sponge who just soaks up knowledge.  Proud does not begin to describe my feelings for this one.

  • Wild...seriously
  • Talking all the time.  She can say the follow: Dada (Da!!), Mama, Gogo (SoSo...for Sophia), Hey, No, Cow, Moo, Quack, Book, Ball, Dog dog, uh oh, babule (which is for bottles and all food), more, nose, dis (this), awe
  • She loves the pool and playing outside
  • She likes to roll a ball back and forth with us and is really good at it too!
  • Starting to walk.  She stands alone with ease and is starting to take steps on her own
  • She loves all food.  She eats all the time.
  • Singing songs and clapping her hands
  • Books...this is the only time she sits still, so we ready a lot!
Isabella is such a fun addition to our family.  She is so happy all the time.  We laugh at all of her funny faces and her crinkled up nose.  She is a daddy's girl.  She runs crawls super fast to the door when she  hears the garage open , and then proceeds to yell at him for the rest of the night.  I am really looking forward to see what her personality is going to be like as she gets older.  Class clown may be in her future.

Clothes are so overrated!

Joey and I have been busy with small (and large) projects at the house.  We are finally DONE, for a while.  We Joey spent last weekend building a play set for the kids.  They both just love it.  The plan to spend the rest of the summer relaxing and enjoying the kids and pool.

Job well done!!

My best friend...partner in of my life

Stay cool this summer!!!

4 years old and a baptism!!

I cannot believe I have a 4 year old little girl!  Wasn't she just born yesterday??  Our weekend was filled with so much excitement and fun.  We had cake, ice cream, pizza, swimming and lots of polka dots!!  Sophia is such a sweet little girl with so many friends.  She was so grateful for everything she was given.  Joey and I are so proud of her.  We all agreed to let her turn 4, but she will have to turn 5 very slowly.  She is so funny.  She can always make us laugh.  She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful heart.  We could not ask for more.   Happy 4th birthday Sophia!!

Isabella thought "helping" her sister open presents was great!

Lots of polka dots needed for a "polka dot pool party"

The birthday girl!!

Playing with her new Barbie pool!

Make a wish sweet birthday girl!

On Sunday, we baptized our wild one.  We laughed so hard because she just did not look like herself in the Christening Gown.  I guess she is too wild to be angelic...ha!  She was so good during mass and her baptism.  I must admit she has been a little more crazy since she was baptized...maybe we should go back and do it one more time. :) It was a beautiful day that we were able to share with family and friends.

Seriously...what I am going to do with that hair?!?!

Mimi and Papa came in town for the festivities

So did Nona, Pappi, Aunt Kay, Aiden and Zoe!

Parents, Godparents and big sister too!  Rob even came in town from Dubai so he could be Isabella's Godfather.

God has blessed us with our Isabella Ann.  I cannot imagine life without her.  She keeps us on our toes.  She is into EVERYTHING and is so smart.  She has a fiery personality and makes us laugh everyday.  Joey has met his match.  She laughs at him when she gets corrected and will say "no" after she gets in trouble.  She is just days away from walking...Lord help us!!

Colletti Update

**Brace yourselves...this is a huge post. A lot to update**

Sophia Update:

My oh my, this little thing is growing so fast. I cannot believe she is about to be four years old! Where did the time go? Sophia is such a sweet little girl and so smart! She has really excelled at school. We are so proud of her. Her teacher told us she is doing some things on a 1st grade level!! Sophia is the best big sister. She really helps with Isabella and is sure to let us know when her sister is doing something "bad." She is still enjoying ballet and just finished her first season of soccer. She never gave up when it came to soccer, but with her super sweet demeanor, soccer is just not for her.

At 3 "almost 4" years old she is really into:

  • Barbies...the movies, the books, the dolls...everything Barbie
  • Swimming! We just put in a pool and our little fish loves to be in it every second that we let her
  • Art-She loves to color and draw.
  • Pretend Play- she has a HUGE imagination. She likes to be different characters and really can stay in acting in her future?!?!
  • Reading-she loves books. All types of books. We have challenged her to pay attention while we read Charlotte's Web. Since there are very few pictures, she has to imagine what is happening. I must admit, she is doing great.
  • Movies. She loves movies and shows. On Friday night, we have "movie night" She gets to watch a movie and I make a special dessert. This happens after we put Isabella to bed, so she feels special that she gets to stay up late.

Sisters are the best...just ask these two!

Easter 2012...this is the best we could do...

I know I say I am going to keep up with this blog, but I really am. I love to go back and see how much we have changed, and sadly this year is flying by with little information.
Joey and I are doing well. He is very busy with work, but we hope for that to slow down soon. We are enjoying the pool and looking forward to spending our time in it this summer. We are planning a Polka Dot pool party for Sophia and we are baptizing Isabella in the same weekend...are we crazy...probably!! Stay tuned for more pictures of my beautiful girls. Life is good!

...and then there were 4!

Isabella Ann Colletti
7 pounds 6 oz
20 inches
Born July 20, 2011 at 8:54am
I am so behind on updating this blog. Things have been different to say the least, but I did not want to miss out on introducing our darling little Isabella!
Her birth was very easy since she was a c-section or a "Drive thru baby" as we like to refer to it. We have easily transitioned into a family of 4 and Sophia is an amazing big sister. Isabella is crazy about Sophia as well.
We are beyond thrilled to have our newest addition to the family. She is beautiful, sweet and so smart already. She flashes us the biggest smiles and rolled over at just 12 days old!! She beat her sisters record of 3 weeks...let the competition begin. We are head over heels in love with this little girl. She has the sweetest disposition and rarely ever cries. She is a great sleeper and has slept through the night (yes it was one time, but I have to count it!) She usually only wakes up once, so no complaining here.
Our first picture as a family of 4!
Best Friends
Her first and last headband. Since she has SO much hair, they just look silly on her. She is more of a bow girl!
I am so proud of Sophia. She has adjusted to having a little sister quite well. She does not even remember life before Isabella. As the weeks go by, it is also hard for me to remember what we did before the baby.
Today we went for Isabella's 2 month doctors appointment. She did great. She cried when she got the shots and it broke my heart because I have never seen her cry to hard before...she just never gets upset. She is getting so big. She is 11 pounds and 6 oz (66 percentile) and is 23 1/2 inches long (88th percentile), and her head is in the 32nd percentile. She definitely gets her height from the Dismukes family. :)
Beautiful smile for a beautiful girl
Look at all that crazy hair!!!!!

Sophia started her school at Northwoods Catholic school and loves it! She is in PreK3 and goes 3 days a week. She wants to go all week, so we are thinking changing her since she loves it so much. I am going to be the room mom this year for her class, so wish me luck! I still dont know what I have gotten myself into with this one! I will post pictures of her in her uniform soon. It is so adorable.
Joey and I are doing great. Enjoying the family and loving life. I really will be better at updating this thing.

Fourth of July 2011

We had a great 4th of July Weekend. We were invited to go to the MacAskie's new lake house and to spend the weekend with their family. It was a fun filled weekend and Sophia had a blast. We spent time on the lake which made our little water bug so happy. We attended a great 4th of July event equipped with a nice dinner, face painting, balloon artist, a stilt walker and a laser show! We are in a huge drought in Texas, so no fireworks this year. We are very lucky to have made such great friends in Texas.
The maiden voyage of the SS. MacAskie (the boat does not have a name yet, and I am sure they are not going to call it the SS. MacAskie :) )
She may be 100% girly girl, but her daddy will not give up on trying to have a little bit of tomboy in her. They did catch a fish, but she was a little scared. That's my girl!
She LOVED this stilt walker...I thought he was a little scary, but she thought he was great!
Getting her face painted with Pink Fireworks.

As I write this post, we are just 8 days away from meeting Isabella!! I cannot wait to be the mother of 2 little girls. We are going to all have so much fun together. For this last week, our plan is to relax, keep cool (since we are having the hottest summer ever) and spend as much time with Sophia as we can. Keep checking next post will introduce Isabella!

Twinkle Toes and turning the big 30!!!

I am having blogging difficulties today...can't seem to get the pictures and the text right...oh well, I am sure it is user error. Anyway...we have had a lot going on this month. Joey turned 30!! He was not too excited about entering his 30s and wanted to have a low key birthday. We got a babysitter and went to see Hangover II. It was pretty funny. We later picked up Sophia, went to dinner and came back to have cake. All in all a very uneventful birthday. It is hard to imagine that last year I threw him a big surprise party at Lake Conroe. Things sure do change in a year, now that we are just weeks away from welcoming Isabella.
Sophia had her first ballet recital. She was so adorable and did a really great job. She loved being on the stage. I think she may have a career in Hollywood someday. She loves to be the center of attention.
Stay at home life is going well. We seem to keep busy and Sophia and I are really enjoying our time together. She is so much fun. She has really impressed us with her swimming abilities. I think she will be fully swimming by the end of the summer. She is not afraid of the water at all. I am grateful for this, but it does make me nervous. I have to watch her like a hawk.
We spent this weekend painting her new big girl room. She has new furniture that will be delivered on Tuesday. She is so excited to be moving into her big sister room. I will be happy to get everything settled with her so that we can get moving on Isabella's room.
We have Isabella's c-section scheduled for July 20th! I am so excited and cannot wait to meet her. Honestly, I would not be too upset if she decides to come a week or two early. It has been brutally hot here in Texas. We have already reached temperatures over 100 and it is just the first of June!!
I will post some pictures of Sophia's new room once everything gets delivered! Enjoy the pictures of my little ballerina.

Back to Blogging...

As mentioned in my last blog, we have gone through a lot of changes in our family. With Isabella on the way in July, I decided that it was time to quit my job and stay home to raise my girls. They are only little once, and I don't want to miss them growing up. It will take a lot of adjusting and a new thought process on life, but I know that I have made the right decision and I am really looking forward to this new chapter in my life. I am blessed to have the opportunity to watch them grow.

In celebration of ending work and celebrating Sophia's 3rd birthday, we decided to take a family trip to Destin. We had an amazing time. I wish that we were still there. We stayed in a beautiful home right across from the beach with a pool! What could be better than that?

Sophia is growing up so fast. It is amazing to think that she is already 3 years old! The theme for her party this year was "Hallow Kitty." She is such a girly girl, that this theme was just perfect for her. Her favorite part about her party was when we played Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty. She also had specific requests for her gifts. She wanted a soccer ball, a fishing pole and running shoes. She is so funny with all of her particulars, but it does make it easier to get her what she wants.

She really is one amazing child. She is beautiful, funny, smart and so sweet. We have been blessed with such a great kid. I hope her sister will follow in her foot steps because she amazes us everyday. Sure, she has her moments, but who doesn't? :)

Happy Birthday Sweet Sophia!! I can't believe you are 3!

My best friend and the love of my life!

We are trying to prepare for Isabella's arrival, but I must admit, we are moving slow on the process. Things are do different with the second child. I am sure I will have everything done in plenty of time to welcome our baby girl.

Sophia and I are staying home together this summer, so that we can spend some time together before the baby comes. She will begin Northwoods Catholic School in the fall and she is really excited! I can't wait to see her in a cute little uniform.
